4 March 2016, Banbury:

Newly-launched R-Motorsport has joined an exclusive and esteemed club, after being selected as an official Aston Martin technical partner team, with its company AF Racing AG providing a new European parts and race car distribution service to Aston Martin Racing customer and partner teams.

Led by Andreas Baenziger and Florian Kamelger, the team will support cars in this year’s VLN Championship, with a V8 Vantage GT4 under the R-Motorsport banner. The newly created team will operate as the motorsport arm of Aston Martin St. Gallen; one of Aston Martin’s leading Swiss dealerships.

In what is a significant coup for the new outfit, the recognition is testament to R-Motorsport and Aston Martin St. Gallen’s ambition and professionalism. The squad commenced its relationship with Aston Martin Racing with preparations for the coming season at an official and exclusive two-day test at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo in Spain.

There, R-Motorsport received advanced technical support and feedback from Aston Martin Racing’s highly-skilled engineers, who were also present testing the latest 2016 V8 Vantage GTE for the upcoming FIA World Endurance Championship. The clients of R-Motorsport were able to experience the latest 2016 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 and Vantage GT3 race cars.

On top of their exploits on track, AF Racing AG will offer a new service to Aston Martin Racing customer teams throughout Europe. The new parts and race car distribution service will operate from Aston Martin St. Gallen and is ready to welcome customers from throughout the continent.

John Gaw, Managing Director of Aston Martin Racing, said: “We are delighted to introduce
R-Motorsport into the Aston Martin Racing family and we look forward to supporting the team in every aspect of its motorsport programme for the future, while providing technical support as and when required”.

Aston Martin Racing is dedicated to supporting its global network of customer teams and our collaboration with AF Racing AG and R-Motorsport creates an improved supply chain to our existing customers too. We’re proud to be able to build upon the exceptional service that we already offer to our customers”.

Florian Kamelger, Managing Director of AF Racing AG, stated: “We are proud to enter into this technical partnership with Aston Martin Racing. It gives us the opportunity to get even closer to motorsport and to build up customer racing on a professional level. ‘R-Motorsport’ will become a brand that will be recognised for racing with Aston Martin”.

David King, Head of Global Motorsports Aston Martin, said: “Motorsport is the soul of every Aston Martin, and our cars are successfully competing on race tracks and in series around the world. We welcome R-Motorsport to become a part of the family of customer teams who race with race cars of our brand”.
