Filipe Albuquerque again in the 24h of Daytona
Portuguese driver will do team again with João Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi
Filipe Albuquerque will participate again in the Rolex 24h of Daytona scheduled on January, 28 and 29. The Portuguese driver will join João Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi at Mustang Sampling Team for the opening event of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, as last year, in what will be the fifth participation of Albuquerque in the mythical American race.
Last year the trio were fourth in the race, expecting this year to take the Mustang Sampling Cadillac DPi-V.R to the top of the podium: “I’m very happy to come back to Daytona, a race I like a lot and where I already won in my first participation. It is always a huge pleasure, to return to the bosom of the team and share the car with João and with the Christian. It is a vote of confidence in my work, in a year when the rules are a novelty for everyone”, said the Portuguese driver.
In terms of the race, the expectation remains unchanged a year later: “Winning, we have no other expectations, the experience of the team and the drivers point in a single direction, the tests before the race will be important for a better preparation, but it seems to me that It’s all on the right track to get the win that last year escaped us, “he said.
